The department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2009. Since its commencement, the primary objective of the department has been to impart quality education and training at the under graduate level in various areas of civil engineering with broad emphasis on design aspects and Practical Implementation. Several academic and co-curricular activities are organized every year to bring up the department as a Centre of Excellence. Apart from teaching, the department is engaged in a wide spectrum of activities covering industrial consultancy, continuing education and faculty, staff and student development. The faculties are specialized in diverse fields and there is commendable research ambience in the Department.

Department has enough number of class rooms for the smooth conduct of the courses. Moreover new construction over the existing building is being done for creating facilities for Post Graduate programs planning.

In addition to academic matters, the CE Department had undertaken many consultancy works and testing.
Mix Design: For the proposed construction of the new OP block (beach hospital) at the Govt. General Hospital the mix design for M25 & M30 grade Concrete was done.
NDT Test: The rebound hammer test for the purpose of testing the quality of R.C.C works of the construction of the commercial building at Naduvattom, Malappuram District was conducted.
Sieve Analysis: Sieve analysis for crushed sand aggregates & Coarse aggregates was done for various proposed works in various places. Cube tests: Conducted approximately 10 nos. of Compression tests on concrete cubes for different firms.
